Taking my wife out for a late night dinner on Tuesday night, March 4th. 11:30PM or so. Need a recommendation for something new or different in Vegas that we haven't yet tried.
Been there, done that:
Ellis Island - everyone should try it once. Good meal. Cheap eats. LONG wait.
Ichiza - Great food. Great atmosphere. Would go again, but we went last week.
Mr Lucky's at the Hard Rock - Loved it. Little too loud for my ears.
Tiffany's Cafe - It's our Go To favorite, but I need something more upscale.
Mexican joints along East Lake Mead Blvd. in North Las Vegas. - Good, good food, but a couple posed a language barrier as nobody spoke English and we had to point at photos to order.
Firefly - Personally, I like Ba Ba Reba much better. YMMV.
Peppermill. - Have been going there since the waitress wore orange uniforms. Just want something new.
Most of the casinos' coffee shops' late night specials. - They're cheap eats, not good eats. I'm looking for both.
Grand Luxe Cafe - Puhleeeeze!
Cocktails. Wife needs to unwind after work.
Prefer off the Strip, but since it is in the middle of the week and there's no huge conventions in town, I'm flexible.
Not uber-trendy. I'm mid fifties and although we like to oogle hard bodied 20 somethings heading for clubs, hanging with them is likely to be somewhere uber loud. See: Mr. Lucky's.
Cheap to mid price food.
Ideally, I'd like to find an ethnic restaurant with good food. Love Thai food, Mexican food, Chinese food. Dying to find a Chinese restaurant with killer noodle soups and pot stickers. Would love to find a late night Thai joint. A Mexican place that makes hand made taquitos and killer margaritas.
Would love a really good hearty soup. I'd gladly give up all my teeth for one Jewish deli that delivers matzoh ball soup at 8:00PM, but that's another story.
Thanks in advance.
