Intrigued by mentions in FW Weekly about Lao food at two places -- something like Papaya Garden and Sikhay. Which is better for someone who knows Lao and Thai food quite well? Are the proprietors of the places from Issan or Lao? The review I read sounded like the dishes at Papaya Garden were less Americanized, but that may have been the reviewer's own choices.
I'm not from the area, but will be visiting relatives, so don't have too much time to compare. Thanks.
