We went on Friday night and arrived just before 8. 35 minute wait. We went to the bar at the back of the first floor, which is very nice but quite small. The half-bottle selection is wonderful, and very very well-priced. We split a $12 half bottle of sancerre that was lovely. As was the little complementary plate of chunks of pecorino romano - yum!
The bar is right in the main path from the kitchen however, and as the bar was completely full we were often dodging servers and plates of food. Not sure how they can fix this particular problem.
In about 20 minutes we were led upstairs (very steep ones). The whole bottle wine list was similarly well-priced, and our server told us that the owner decided to have a significantly lower mark-up than normal. Well-appreciated!
We very much enjoyed our meal! The bread that came was crusty and chewy - both butter and olive oil offered. Goat cheese profiteroles were lovely and light, the salad was well-dressed.
My finace loved his lamb shank - it fell off the bone! And my tuna, ordered rare, actually came that way - hooray! A very tasty piece of fish.
The small dessert options are a great idea. I did not want dessert, but he did, so he ordered the bluberry cobbler, which was a perfect 5-6 bite size.
Service was attentive but not overbearing.
We will definitely go back!
