L'Agrette Dinner Report

Three of us had a very early here on Sunday after a matinee. It's so hard to find a restaurant open before 5:00pm. We were turned away from Marseilles, Jezebel, and Cara Mia. Anyway here goes the food report:

apps: fried mozzarella and bread with tomato sauce on the side, spinach salad, house salad. Salads were both fine, but not the fried mozzarella. It tasted too hard

entrees: Peppered Tuna with Mustard Sauce, boy was this spicy. I took half a bite and it was enough for me. My friend ate about 1/3 and started picking at our food. Linguini with Lobster: messy, but good. Veal with Prosciutto, Eggplant and Cheese: very ordinary, veal a little on tough side.

desserts: tiramisu and cheesecake: average and uneventful.

With so many restaurants to choose from on 9th Ave. I wouldn't bother with this one, except for us that it was one of the few that were open and we wanted to go someplace new. We have already been to Rachels, West Bank Cafe, Southwest 44, Le Madeline, Esca, and many others. We go to theater very often and am always on the look out for a good dining option either post matinee or pre-theater. Any recs?
