La Regalade-September 1st 2011

We went to La Regalade last night, and had a great dinner. The place is cozy and very, very hot. The temperature in the restaurant was very uncomfortable and found ourselves rushing to leave by the end due to the stuffy, small space. Now onto the food...

We started with a house pate', that they bring around to all of the tables. It was excellent. We then moved onto a fig salad and the foie gras, mushroom soup. Both were excellent, the soup was my dish and was by far one of the best bowl of soup I have ever tasted. They knocked it out of the park with the appetizers. The entrees I was not that impressed with. We had the pork and the lamb steak. The pork was just ok, and the lamb was very tough. I kept talking about the appetizer the whole time I was eating the entree. Then came desert. My wife got the souffle, and I had the rice pudding. Both were amazing, just amazing. They killed it with these two dishes. Overall, it was a good experience, and it's in a neat little neighborhood. If the entrees were better and the room was 15 degrees cooler, I would have given it 5 stars.

Enjoy!
