In January 2019, I tried my seventh paleteria in this small town. Santa Maria is paleta-ville central. And new ones have opened since then so I’m not done yet. Not that I'm complaining about this mission I've chosen for myself. This shop is the original location of the branch that closed in Grover Beach. https://www.chowhound.com/post/palete...
Oddly, from the dozens of flavor choices, I happened to pick the same paleta flavor that I'd had in Grover Beach, the Chemise Rojo with strawberry ice on the exterior and a core of cream, $2.50. The regular Chemise with strawberry ice enrobed in vanilla ice cream is also available.
The reusable copper straw that I was given the month before that was tucked into the car console for this road trip was finally inaugurated. I got a cup of Pepino con limon agua fresca, $2.75, for the road.
