Wife and I hit La Kasbah for lunch today. Second time for me. Both times were excellent, but this time they are "Under new management" and have tweaked the menu. I deem it improved.
First, the only miss was that they put pretty unseasoned brown ground beef on top of the hummus app - though otherwise it was good, and the bread was nicely done.
I had the tagine of spicy chicken. Very good, a full half chicken with some really nice spice. The only hit in my view was the lack of veggies, but I didn't mind too much. The hit from my wife (who will post if I don't include this) is that it was a tad oily.
She had the chicken chawarma (had never seen this spelling), and I was envious when it came out. Lots of fresh veggies, great chicken. Sizeable, and the cheapest entree on the menu.
They've got a few tagines, kebabs (had a lamb before that was great), marquise, soups, salads and some apps. The only odd thing on the menu is under apps they have quesadillas, wings and tenders, though I'm guessing those are for kids primarily.
It doesn't get too much traffic, I fear, but is worth it right now.
On a side note, Il Cigno is no longer. It's now an American place with tapas(?). A coworker went there a couple of weeks ago and said it was an overpriced rip off. I'll be checking in on Cafe Montmartre before long to see if they're still as good as they usually are.
