finally went there ater the times review.
the lunch prixe-fixe (and they don't make substitutions for this, i was hoping that the prixe-fixe would include the famous shrimp dishes or beef with medallion sauce, but the dishes sounded boring from an onion soup to a calamari taco to a caesar salad, where are the interesting dishes that are supposed to be on the prixe-fixe, now i get a sense that they put the more pedestrian boring stuff on the prixe-fixe) didn't look so interesting so i went with the cameraones de diablo which is shrimps with a spicey sauce. it was all right, nothing earth-shattering. the rice was a little too buttery and rich. and the dish was good, but at the same time there was not much that was completely nuanced to it.
it seemed like i almost could have whipped this up at home.
also, they didn't have the cheesecake dessert so i skipped that stuff altogether.
maybe i'll give it a try again, for the beef medallions in huitatloche sauce and for the vanilla-flavored shrimp, and maybe the tequila shrimmp or maybe not.
15 bucks for the complete meal, i'm not sure what the big deal is about this joint.
