I didn't go to La Estancia to be served ridiculously enormous portions of food. I wanted to eat a delicious steak and not pay a lot of money for it.
What I got when I ordered the steak a la pobre for $24 was a massive marinated steak with onions and peppers, two fried eggs, as well as two huge sides (I chose yucca and plantains) and two rolls. I didn't think I would get half way through the steak, but I did, mostly because i found it difficult to stop eating. I barely touched the sides, which were ok, and I didn't touch the rolls.
They have a interesting menu with some Argentinian specialties like a kind of stuffed beef roulade called matambre, marinated tongue, and a parillada with blood sausage and tripe added to a selection of steaks.
This seems like a place worth going in a group.
