La Abeja - pork fix

Robert Lu | Jun 29, 2004 01:36 AM

Since I missed out on the pig party, I went to La Abeja to try the vaunted carne adobado. It's a plateful of 1/4 inch pork cuts, marinated in a smoky-spicy concoction, and seared up real nice. Incredibly flavorful. The refried beans were also unusually rich. Too bad the tortillas were nothing special. It was a helluva $6.50 lunch, but I suspect I consumed a brick of manteca today.
