L2O

We had a fantastic meal this past weekend. We did the singular tasting menu which consisted of Maryland blue crab en gelee, hand harvested Main scallop, cooked in the shell with leeks and caviar,
Lubina with caviar and golden grapes, Maine lobster and smoked foie gras, A11 Waygu grilled with potato fondant & black truffle, and praline souffle.

After the meal I believe that L2O is among the best in Chicago without any question. There was a small timing problem between the luina and lobster but, besides that everything was near perfect. The service was friendly and efficient. The wine somm was also very nice. They also allowed corkage which was in my mind adds a lot. We had a white burgundy we brought with the scallops to the lobster then had a red burgundy with the waygu and a glass of Aussie "port" with the souffle.

The lobster and scallop stood out but every course was excellent. This was on par with our recent visits to Tru and far better than Trotter's last year...in my wife's and my opinion, at least.
