A couple weeks ago William and I had a late-ish Friday dinner at Krung Thais newest branch in Mountain View. My brother had been here before, while it was a first visit for me.
Angel wings Two over-stuffed then deep-fried chicken wings slashed into serving pieces accompanied with a plum dipping sauce. Looked great, but dried out with little flavor.
Po tak Coconut milk-less hot and sour soup with tender scallop, mussel, prawns and squid ordered medium spicy. Wonderful limey aromatics, intense flavor yet light and refreshing broth with an ultra-clean finish, my favorite.
Fried rice with crab meat Pictured below, moist-style firm rice with sweet crab meat and lots of garlic. Nice garnishes here and a huge serving. I enjoyed this as a leftover even more.
Roast duck curry Strips of roast duck in red curry with coconut milk, pineapple, yellow and black raisins, basil, not served in the pineapple shell described on the menu, ordered medium spicy and could have used more heat. Many layers of flavor with fruity highlights, too bad the duck was dry and stringy, although William said that anything would be delicious in that sauce.
Even though our results were mixed, Id go back to try more from the extensive menu. Ive linked Livs recs below. Any other dishes recommended?
