I'm not sure whether this is the right forum for this question, so if anyone has any better ideas, please let me know. I am going to the national and state parks for a week this summer and plan on buying a cheap charcoal grill to use while I'm there. I will be flying from the midwest and my travel companion will be flying from New York, but with layovers. What's the best way for us to bring meat (i.e., chicken breasts, hotdogs, steaks) there? Check a box frozen with ice packs? Is there anywhere that can deliver reliably? Any brands that are better or worse for this? Also, if any of you have any tips for doing this, I'd appreciate it, since we've never done this before, and while we think it should be possible, we're not 100% sure of the details.
Also, if you know whether it's possible to buy fresh trout in the Custer State Park area, please let me know. I'd love to be able to have freshly cooked out there instead of relying on my standard non-perishable travel staples.
