Kosher gift baskets - any good ones?

We received a gorgeous Hanukkah gift basket with a wide assortment of attractive goodies, all with impeccable hekshers. There were different kinds of packaged "gourmet" chocolates, nuts, candies, etc. With hardly an exception nearly everything in the basket tasted positively awful. The best of the items were tasteless, the worst nearly inedible. Just not worth the calories and for me to say that about junk food, that's something.

We've received baskets prepared by this company before and, with the exception of some truly excellent dates on one occasion, it was the same thing. It looked lovely and tasted horrible.

What gives? Most people who keep kosher really do have functioning taste buds and can tell the difference between excellent, good, and unpalatable food. How does a company get away with this on a regular basis and - for future reference - can anyone recommend a gift basket company that's reliably good?
