Here is a question that I hope someone will be kind enough to answer; it relates to some research I am doing involving the Schechter Bros. poultry case in the 1930s (a very big deal at the time).
As I understand it, the Schechter Bros. were live poultry dealers who served the Kosher market in Brooklyn. I would like to understand the significance and also the ritual surrounding the purchase and preparation of live chicken. Even if you can suggest a source, I will be very grateful.
I'm also interested in finding any descendants of the Schechters as I am hopeful that someone will have memories and stories about the brothers.
thanks for listening!
