I am having problems searching for the old DTW thread regarding places to get knives sharpened (Sur La Table, etc.).  So, I'll just start a fresh post to pass along that I heard from an old friend from this board who is a kitchen knife enthusiast.  He says he has recently had great luck with a guy in Southeast Michigan named Jason Bosman, who mostly does business by mail.  Sure, you'd probably want to try him out by having your $80 knife sharpened, before moving up to your $220 knife ...if you are so fortunate as to have one of those babies.  Apparently, he'll manually sharpen an 8in blade for $10, with the whole micro-photographic verification check of the edge, etc..  Looks like it may be worth checking out.
