The Knife and Fork Inn- Atlantic City

My girlfriend and I spent a night in AC on Wednesday and knew that we wanted to have steak for dinner. After much deliberation and reading this board about what steakhouse to try in AC, my girlfriend and I chose the Knife and Fork Inn.

Arriving at 6pm, we were only the second table seated in the very nice second floor room. However, as our dinner progressed, several more tables became occupied. We both opted for the 8 ounce filet ($28), which was accompanied by sauteed baby broccoli. After reading that the sides were the perfect size for two people to share, we opted for the oven roasted yukon gold potatoes. This was a tough choice as many of the other sides sounded delicious as well.

In a word, the steak was incredible. I ordered mine medium and it was perfectly cooked, with a nice crust. Sometimes when you order steak, there is an inclination to add some salt and pepper, but this steak did not need any further seasoning. There was excellent salt and spice in each bite and the meat itself had a great flavor. The baby broccoli was a nice touch and had a nice, garlicky flavor. The yukon golds were also excellent and a perfect accompaniment to the steak.

We were both pretty full afterward so we decided to opt out of dessert until later in the evening. Overall, it was a great experience, the food was terrific and the service was pleasant and attentive. I know there are many good places for steak in AC, but for the price, I thought the quality of the food and value was very good and would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. I also overheard another table discussing how the other non-steak options on the menu were also delicious. Don't hesitate to give this AC institution a try!
