I guess it's not technically cookware (although if I drop something on the floor I have no trouble ingesting it even with the extra "cooking"), but I'm interested in your flooring choices. My kitchen is relatively small (as is the house) but not tiny. I'm having my contractor build a small island in the middle (no electric, no plumbing), with a quartz countertop (about 3' x 5'), which he plans to put on casters (so it can be moved a bit if necessary). That's going to limit my flooring choices (right now, I'm thinking stained concrete is going to be the least likely to be damaged, though I'm not crazy about that choice). I'm not planning to move the island very often. Any opinions on ceramic or porcelain tile? Initially I didn't want that (hey, I drop things!) but now I'm rethinking.
