Kill Devil's a real kill joy!

Finally got a chance to try Kill Devil's in Lake Forest the other night. What a huge disappointment! We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, a Sabatino's hot sausage, fries and had a frozen custard for dessert. Overall, the food was rather lackluster. The predominate flavor in the pulled pork sandwich was vinegar, without so much as a hint of smoke or pork flavor (which considering that it's a pork sandwich is really telling)! As for the sausage, I was really surprised that it was merely mediocre. After hearing great things about Sabatino's sausages on the board, I thought the sausage would be great. Perhaps the sausage suffered after being mishandled because it arrived unpleasantly gray in color and wasn't grilled at all. Fries were fine, as was the frozen custard.

Overall, the portions were small (which, in hindsight, was probably a good thing!). On top of this, throughout our meal, I heard people complaining that Kill Devil's had raised their prices. For my money, I won't go back. I can over look small portions, even when combined with high prices, if the food is good. Unfortunately, that is not the case with Kill Devil's.
