Kid Friendly Dining in Charleston

schraminvan | Mar 7, 201509:30 PM

A Canadian Chowhound is coming South! I'll be traveling with my wife and our 1.5 yr old daughter. Really excitied to be in one of the best culinary cities in North America, but I'm starting to wonder if my expectations are off a bit since we'll be dining with our little mess-maker.

We're staying out on James Island (VRBO) but definitely want to eat some in Downtown. I've made resos at SNOB for lunch and FIG for dinner. Will these places be too fancy for our kid? Is dining with a small barbarian frowned upon in the South?

For other places to eat I'm really targeting "hole in the wall" type of places and casual fare (Hominy Grill, Martha Lou's). Are there any decent places out in James Island/Folly Beach area?

I'm also a bit of a beer geek so any beer bars or breweries you think might be good, I'd appreciate some info.

The rest of our time will be spent in the Greenville/Asheville area.

Thanks Hounds!
