Kebab Factory

I had been avoiding this place after reading an awful Chowhound review from last year. I also am generally suspicious of restaurants with "factory" in their names, however I had business in the area and decided to give it a try. It was really, exceptionally good. The appetizer was four perfectly cooked bay scallops with skewers of sugar cane, in a savory sauce. I ordered the "Chalbi Kebab" (I think that's how it was spelled) as the entree, which consisted of medallions of chicken coated in a "rub" which included pomegranite seeds and sauteed. It was outstanding. The presentation at this place is far beyond what you get at most Indian restaurants. Foodwise, the only downside was a failed concept appetizer (from the specials menu) of eggplant served inside a soft crepe, which was merely okay. Like Diva, which is clearly run by the same people, the service at Kebab Factory is a bit chaotic (it is like a free-for-all of wait staff with little coordination), but well-intentioned.

Kebab Factory is on in Somerville at the corner of Kirkland and Beacon, between Evoo and Dali.
