i'd love to get any input i can from all you incredibly knowledgable hounds out there.... i was a big fan of toshi's sushi until it closed earlier this year. when the owners opened kaygetsu (link below), i was relieved but a little bit disappointed (for lack of a better word) that it wasn't a more sushi-focused place, although i'm sure their sushi is top notch if one chooses to go that route.
anyway, i've never experienced a kaiseki meal and would be interested in doing so, but at $65 or $80 for a 6 or 9 course meal respectively, it's a bit of an investment. i was hoping i could get some feedback from anyone who may have been to kaygetsu for the kaiseki menu, or if not, from anyone who has experienced a kaiseki meal at all. i'd specifically like to know what to expect and if the experience is unique/tasty enough to justify the expense.
thanks in advance for the help! :-)
