We had a wonderful meal at John Nelson's Kalypso a couple of nights ago. He relocated from Cannon Beach last summer and the new place is gorgeous.
The restaurant is very spacious and beautifully decorated. We were seated at a table by the window that was very nice. We started with a bowl of the clam chowder which is very good and nicely prepared. I ordered a glass of the Muller Thvrgan/Henry Estates that was so good I had the server write it down so I could purchase the wine somewhere.
For my entree I had the Fresh Willapa Bay oysters coated with a blend of Masa and spices, pan-fried and served with lime and green chili tartar which were excellent. Very generous portions, next time I'll get the app.
My husband had the salmon which was wild, pan-seared and accompanied by tomato and fennel sauce, served over crushed potatoes, which he said was also excellent.
A very enjoyable experience, I'm sure we'll be here a lot over the next few weeks. 619 Broadway/Seaside, OR Bon appetit! ***kim***
