Jumbo Dinner with the Limster

Dinner with the Limster at Jumbo

My family was able to share dinner Thursday night with the Limster before he returned to Boston.

We had a set dinner with my family with Limster as the guest of honor and his eating buddy Low End Theory.

We had the Seventy-Seven dollar set dinner. I reason being was that it had Peking spareribs, which the Limster favorite dish.

Jelly Fish, with pickled turnips. The jellyfish was crispy and light, the vegetables were just there.

Corn with Crab soup was mild but with enough crab to make it sweet.

Stewed Shitake mushrooms with just cooked lettuce. Well done the lettuce was barely cooked.

Braised fish with bean curd and fried tofu. This was well done the fish stewed fish was done just right. It was not overcooked as is easy to do with this dish.

Stewed Oyster with Black Bean sauce, which we had 10 steamed oysters. Perfectly done, fresh, steam to the right degree of doneness and just enough black bean to have a black bean taste without hiding the oyster favor. I ask if the oysters were as good as Boston’s. But he learned from gg not to pick a winner.

Steamed crab with mung bean threads. This may be one of the best ways to have crab because only the freshest crab can be used. The bean thread had all the juice of the crab and was great.

Peking Spareribs. The Limster ate this with great deal of fan fair. He always liked this best.

Crispy Fried Chicken, which was cooked to well for the Chinese taste. I like the chicken to have a little pink on the bones. Outside of the fact it was a little dry it was good.

Salt and Pepper Shrimp, this was the last dish serve and was also a little dry. But the favor was just right.

We have housed special Chow mein instead of rice.

We ended the meal with a wonderful dessert the Limster post on the broad already. Want everyone to know the Limster has not lost his touch because with his lead 7 of us eat a meal for 10. Maybe ii is time to find the cheapest and best set Cantonese set dinner.
