Got serious raves at the dinner (though after the turkey, quantity was limited), and it didn't have the cloying sweetness I normally get with pecan pie.
Also, one of the posters (before I made the pie) mentioned problems mixing in the eggs. I tried tempering them first, which helped; they went in without any curdling problems.
Anyway, thanks again! I think I'll stop buying corn syrup now.
