Joey Thai - it's all true.

I haven't been to this board in ages, but I had to come back to say this: Joey Thai! The reports were all true! I read about Joey Thai, the Thai restaurant in the back of a midtown Blimpie franchise, at the Chowhound site ages ago, then forgot about it, because my life was not in midtown. Well, I got a new job, and Joey Thai, as I discovered, is up the street, ladling supertasty authentic Thai food from behind a Blimpie sandwich counter. The combination is mind-boggling to consider. However, the food is not confused. It is surprisingly good. I took the crispy fish and am chewing a mouthful of it right now: sweet and sour, basil, peppers, a sprinkling of crunchy red onions, a delightfully immodest dousing of aromatic fish sauce (my apologies to my co-workers), and wonders of wonders, it was $3.75 plus tax, meaning I spent four dollars and a nickel for this food. God bless New York City.
