The Post's Food section had a blurb today about the Taiwanese breakfast foods available at Jen's Chinese Restaurant in Gaithersburg. Has anyone tried this place?
A couple worrying notes from the article... the owners of this restaurant used to own Joe's Noodle House until the current owner bought it a few years ago. I remember reading somewhere (here? a review?) that Joe's Noodle House has improved dramatically under the new ownership, implying that it wasn't that great under the old one.
And according to the article, there are 25 Taiwanese breakfast items on the menu, but only 14 of them are on the English menu. "That's because American people, they won't eat the other things, like the squid soup." Well, *I* would! I'd eat squid three meals a day given the opportunity. Meanwhile, A&J translates its entire menu, and you wouldn't think Americans would want spicy pig ear either. (yum, tastes like bacon)
