If you like Vietnamese sandwiches & Avocados then you'll like Jenjon's Cafe. I read Yelp reviews before I went so I knew what I wanted. I called it in at 4:30pm and told Jen (owner/cook), I'd be there by 5pm. Well, traffic is pretty heavy & I got there like 5:15pm.
Usually I want my food packed up & waiting for me when I called it in, but she was so nice & Friendly that I let it go. All I know is she's Vietnamese & can speak Cantonese.
Well, I asked if she takes credit cards & she does..the bad part is she will charge you an extra .50c if u want to use it. No thanks, I got Cash!
So I got:
Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich-I think it comes w/ Avocado too, I made sure it did. I don't like raw red onions & jalapenos so next time I'll tell her No Onions & Peppers.. Daikons, fish sauce, cilantro, chunks of chicken dark pieces. Nice crunchy French roll, meat was tender enough. She cut it in half which was nice. $4.25 I think.
Also got a Salmon Sandwich-it's Salmon fillet, avocado & the regular banh mi items: crunchy French roll, daikon, cilantro, fish sauce, mayo, red onions, jalapeno peppers. It was tasty too. $5.50
Drink I got was Jasmine Milk Tea no pearl for $2.75. It's sweet & pretty good.
My total paying Cash was $13.35. It's a tiny place, mostly take-out.
Recommended. It's close to Union City Bart where the old Monkey's Cafe was. Between Rite Aid & Dollar Tree, behind Carnitas Michoacan.
