best java in Toronto?

We're visiting Toronto the first week in June-- used to be a favorite weekend destination in years before kids, probably been 15 years since we've been!

Looking for good coffee joints for my java fussy husband-- he's way beyond Starbucks, you know. Read about Bulldog cafe, that sounded interesting. Anything else? We're staying at the Four Seasons in Yorkville, anything close there?

We're looking forward to returning to an old favorite for dinner, Le Select Bistro, in it's new location... any comments?

Also interestd in what I've read about Oyster Boy. Perigree maybe for a splurge. Is early June too early for patio dining at Pure Spirits Oyster House? We've not been to the Distillery district.

Finally-- any good funky jazz and blues haunts?
