We went down Clement this evening to get some Roast Crab and Garlic Noodles at Jasmine House. Alas it was gone, and in its place was Ernesto's Italian restaurant that had moved there from next door.
We decided to go across the street and try a place called PPQ Dungeness. It was pretty full and there was only one table left that could accomodate the three of us. Soon there was a fairly good size group of peoople waiting to be seated.
Although this place doesn't have the personal touch andwarmth that Jasmine House had, the food is good and we left feeling our needs for crab and garlic noodles fulfilled. There several other things on the menu that seemed interesting and we will definitely try it again.
We ordered an appetizer of Imperial Rolls wwhich was pork, taro, and vegetables ina wrapper and deep fried. They were very tasty and came to the table so hot I couldn't put them in my mouth for a while. We then had the Crab and Asparagus Soup which was kind of bland and could have used a little more crab.
The Roast Crab was a good sized one and very tasty. The Garlic Noodle were very good and garlicky and the portion was quite large.
For dessert we had Fried Bananas with Coconut Ice Cream and Mango Pudding. The fried bananas were what you would expect. The Mango Pudding was a bit better than usual. It had chunks of mango in it and was served with cream poured over it.
