i want to take my boyfriend out for japanese at a place that isn't our usual haunt. the catch is that he's japanese and loves places that are owned/operated by his fellow people.
we want both sushi and japanese home cooking, and we're open to both queens or brooklyn. we don't care too much about price/decor, our #1 priority is quality japanese food made by japanese people.
after reading about taro sushi in park slope, i was thinking of taking him there? is it worth the trip from queens, where we reside?
thank you for your assistance. there's a few places we've checked out in queens, that were once japanese owned but are no longer. it's not that we have anything against these places (our local haunt is korean owned), but the big grin on his face when we go to a japanese place is what i'm seeking.
