Japanese House Curry (brand) .... how can I make it taste better?

I've been trying to make this curry taste like the japanese restaurants we've gone to. Even their "instant" packets that you just need to reheat taste close to the restaurants curry.

Is there anything I can add to this that can make it more authentic in taste? The flavor seems bland to me, even if I reduce the amount of water while cooking. I have added onions potatoes and carrots to my curry.
