Japanese Conveyor Belts?

Greetings, all!

Just returned from a wonderful, hot and wet holiday in Bangkok this morning! Had the usual unending parade of amazing thai food experiences, but one of my Thai friends wanted to break up the unending parade of local meals with a "new experience" -- a Japanese restaurant where the food comes around and around on a conveyor belt and in a one-price-for-all situation you take from the belt and either eat the sushi-style dishes as is or cook the chicken/meat/fish/vegetable dishes in broth (shabu shabu style?)

Has this method of dining come to the Bay Area? I crave a return visit!

Thanks!
