One of the highlights of our last trip to Taipei was missing our connecting flight in Osaka. Anyway, our hotel was one step away (and a small one at that) from being a brothel and we were horrified by the american food waiting for us at 1:am when our group arrived. Long story longer; imagine how dumbfounded we were to find a japanese breakfast waiting for us before we let fit for an emperor. Succulent smoked fish, wonderful sausage, soup, rice, seaweed, and the most complex green tea. I, I..........ok, I admit it, I was swooning.
(is it Orientalist to say that after I eat good Japanese food I feel like, well, you know "doing it")
So my question is this: is there a place in LA for a traditional breakfast besides a stuffy and expensive hotel?
p.s. the wheels are in motion and we should be visitng to look at homes early next month. :)
