It was chilly last week and wanted a warm place to eat. The windows were all fogged up at Jack's Oyster Bar, so we ventured in. It is a small place but it was warm. The food was excellent. We had 1 tasting menu for $55 and then ordered individual dishes that were not on our tasting menu.
The roasted oysters were very good. The raw oysters were fresh , we had east and west coast.
The diver scallop was very well prepared. I enjoyed the foie gras. The risotto was average.
Overall the place is very good. The service was OK, but the waiter was emotionless. He also never asked, how is everything , do you need anything else, etc. Just brought the food. But he was accommodating as far as the sharing of dishes went. I will certainly go back to this East Village good food warm place.
