Italian Buffet Lunch in Tampa... T&C...

Mild Bill | May 30, 2008 04:40 PM

At the intersection of Waters Avenue and Hanley Road, in the same center as the Save-A-Lot Supermarket, is Constantino's...
It's a full serve, ultra casual, Italian family restaurant, and they put out a freakin' delicious, well stocked, & interesting lunch buffet for $5.95...

Very surprising premium flavors and textures for a lunch buffet--- 20 times better than Gus's on Northdale, who does a lunch buffet that I have silently condemned and regretted the 5 or so times I've popped in there over the years...

Anglolotti and cheese ravioli in delicious white cream sauces--- Alfredo I guess... Wow!
Baked Ziti in a subdued red sauce and a buttery, generous, & crusty Mozzarella topping... It blew me away...

Wonderful Eggplant Parm that tasted like it should...
Decent meatballs...

Econo, but very acceptable & good Chicken and Veal Parms...
3 or 4 other pastas as well as a salad bar and garlic bread...

Ya know how often you see cheese on pizza or pasta but you can barely detect its flavor or texture?
I was so happy and shocked that that wasn't the case here...

It's my third visit there and I've been meaning to tell you about it...

It's not a fancy place--- but Holy Moly, what a dangerous too-close Italian lunch buffet!

I'm a good Italian food cook, and I can't muster a negative word for the food or service...

I look forward to hearing some feedback...
