ISO small chocolate cake recipe

Val | Jul 8, 200705:27 AM     10

Yesterday I wanted to bake a small (9x9 inch) chocolate cake since it was only going to be my son
and me for dinner. Every recipe I have that is "tried & true" produces a regular large 2-layer cake (or 13x9")...does anyone have a GOOD small chocolate cake recipe? Or can I just halve the ingredients for the larger cake and produce a moist, delicious from-scratch chocolate cake? By the way, I googled my question and did find a recipe but it was really dry--it had good flavor but definitely not moist enough. Here's the link to the recipe I used yesterday if any of you expert bakers can figure out what to do to improve the moistness in this...more yogurt? Buttermilk maybe? Thanks!
