I've posted to the CA and SF boards in an attempt to find this, but figured I might end up just making it myself.
For the most part I've avoided this tomato based style since my earlier experiences were so disappointing, i.e. thin and acidic with canned clams thrown into an otherwise bland tomato soup, but a couple of years ago I came across it on a menu somewhere (can't recall...CRS disease you know)and gave it another shot. It was a fantastic version, perhaps with a little cream added, loads of flavor and great clams.
Does anyone have a recipe they think is outstanding? TIA
