Definitely one of the top 6 restaurants in Islamabad: The House of Bombay, which owes its incongruous name (an Indian-sounding name for a top restaurant in Pakistan's capital) from its inception in Rawalpindi back in 1922 - founder, Ata Mohammad named it after the largest, most exciting city on the Indian subcontinent then.
Our dinner this evening:
- Paneer pakoras - crisp-battered cottage cheese
- Yakhni consomme with mutton
- Chicken seekh kebab & tandoori chicken
- Achaar gosht - mutton with pickling spices and chillies
- Daal makhni
- Selection of naan breads
All the dishes were competently prepared, but none were particular standouts, nothing in particular which I'd make a return journey for.
