Guan Kee has got to have one of the best rice dumplings (肉粽) in Ipoh, if not in Malaysia.
Wrapped in palm leaves then steamed, one would unwrap one of those dumplings to reveal moist, tasty glutinous rice encasing a delicious filling which consisted of salted duck-egg yolk, mushroom, stewed pork belly, dried shrimps and chestnut.
It's got the perfect texture and perfect balance of flavors. The price has gone up in the past few years, and their dumplings now cost RM5.20 each.
