I am researching Alpler Magrone, a Swiss dish that is similar to macaroni and cheese. Is there anyone that has had it in Switzerland (or has a family recipe)? Where exactly does it come from in Switzerland? I have seen recipes that have bacon and appenzeller cheese and claim to be from the Appenzell regions and other versions without bacon that are supposedly from the central part of Switzerland. Also, some recipes state you serve it with applesauce. Is it plain applesauce?
