Indonesian trasi/fermented shrimp paste subsitution

I LOVE the funky smell and taste of trasi, I have a jar in the fridge that I use all the time. BUT I have two very good friends, one of whom doesn't eat seafood and the other of whom is very allergic to shrimp, and I would love to find a substitute to use when I cook for them (which is often).

Some sort of fermented fish paste? If anyone knows about anything, please let me know (and specifics like brand name or even a picture would be great, as my local Asian store carries a lot of things from all over Asia, but even the staff themselves don't seem to know what half of it is)!
