Indianapolis Chinese bakery

Just wanted to pass on to all the Indy Hounds a new find -- Jumbo Chinese bakery just west of 56th and Georgetown. I noticed it when it opened a month or so ago in a new small strip mall and finally had the chance to stop in. It was the end of the day on Friday, so the cases were a little bare, but they had a variety of savory buns, pastries, cakes, etc. Prices were terrific -- I spent from 80 cents to $1.25 per bun. I tried the roast pork buns and the sweet sesame balls -- both satisfied a long-standing craving. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and patient as he explained to me what each item was, and he even offered me tastes.

It's exciting to see locally owned ethnic shops such as this open and hopefully flourish. Now I am keeping my fingers crossed that the fish market going in next to the bakery will be a good one!
