Indian Grill Restauran address 108 Ossington Ave. Toronto | 647-347-6600
I was pretty giddy tonight.
We ended up using Open Table to book a table for 4 at Indian Grill (we were dropping a friend off nearby and we were hungry)
That has to be the luckiest foodie stumble-upon in nearly a decade for me in Toronto.
I rarely write a review unless a place is a delicious as Indian Grill is.
We had: butter chicken, dal makhani, channa, beef vindaloo, samosas, pakora, rice, naan ( ras malai and galub jamun for dessert )
Everything, and I mean everything was delicious, correctly spiced, timed, cooked and served.
Pakora & samosa, super fresh and really nice tasting
Rice: perfectly fluffy and the onion sprinkles were crisp AND tasty good quantity for 4
Naan: the lightest & crisp yet not dry naan nor too buttered just the right amount for 4
(I did not eat butter chicken nor vindaloo but the family loved them).
Channa was nicely spiced and channa texture was balanced, saucy and not mushy.
Dal Makhani was also perfect.
Salt well balanced, not too much ghee and presentation is in copper lined pots, the dal and channa are in near vertical pots keeping them piping hot
The desserts were both superb. I seldom eat dessert but their food was so tasty I had to try. Both so fresh and you can tell made in house with love.
Service was polite and attentive and they don't serve iced water which I give extra points for.
Dinner for 4 very very hungry folks: 4 dishes, 2 order rice, two order naan and two appetizers and with two desserts: $109 with tax and %20 tip.
I didn't bother to take photos, their yelp/google reviews show the food in good detail already.
I can only complain that I wish they were in my Bloor Bathurst hood, I'd be a regular.
Plus M-F they have specials (on their website).
Quality & tidy place, solid service. It reminds me of my first time eating at Copper Chimney almost a decade ago on Avenue Road when we lived up there.
Enjoy and if you go and like their food, do share so we keep them busy.
to your health Chowbuddies,
