Indian Corn in KC?

Zeemanb | Sep 29, 2003 06:23 PM

It may be too late in the year at this point, but does anyone know of a source (a farmer's market/grocer) that ever has fresh Indian corn? You see the dried, decorative version all over during this time of year, but never fresh as far as I know. I used to eat it about fifteen years ago when I was living with a family in northeastern Arizona, they grew it in their garden.

If you've never tried it, it's definitely an acquired taste. Much starchier, heavier and not nearly as sweet as the corn on the cob you're used to. A meal in itself for sure.

Just curious. It would be great to roast some up. Got the Royal this weekend, so if I'm lucky enough to find any......

Thanks,
Jerry
