If you have to be in Kingston during the winter (she snipped from very warm Portland, OR), you must try the Chicken Dahsank at Curry Original and the Hot & Sour Tofu (No. 17) at the Cambodian dive on King St.
The Curry Original owners are part Persian (Iranian) and the Dahsank preparation reflects that. (sour lemon) The restaurant is on Ontario, the street closest to the water.
The Cambodian dive is one of two Cambodian restaurants on the same block of King, just west of Princess. The tofu dish has thai basil and I have never figured out what else, but it's cosmic. Cosmic.
I'm also a sucker for the Morning Glory muffins at the Sleepless Goat coffeehouse on Princess. One will last you all day.
