inboston: Korean fried chicken and things

Gordough | Jan 29, 201409:31 AM

Had an early lunch here today. For those unaware, it is a brand new place specializing in Korean fried chicken located at 85 Bedford St. on the outskirts of Downtown Crossing. Strangely, they also serve tacos and rice bowls.

I had a small order of the soy wings (same deal as Bon Chon with a choice of either spicy or soy and wings, drums and strips). The wings came out warm if not hot. The fry job(s) on the wings was very good. My only complaint was that I wish the soy glaze had a bit more flavor. Next time I will try the hot (you cannot get a split of hot and soy with a small order). You pick a side with the wings and I had the coleslaw which I liked. I also had one of the bulgogi tacos and it was just ok and nothing special. I think I will stick to the wings next time.

The place was packed at 11:45am and it is tiny with not much space to wait and only 8 stools to sit on. They were getting the orders out pretty quickly, averaging approximately 5-7 minutes per order from what I witnessed. It was a steady stream of customers one after another and this was all before noon. Since there is nothing like this anywhere downtown (are there even ANY good wings of any kind in the neighborhood?), I think they are going to be very successful. Note that they are only open until 6pm.
