So we went with a sizable group to Il Bellagio at Cityplace over the weekend. Mixed.
Cityplace was packed at 9pm on a Saturday, which was really nice to see. Were seated at our table in a tiny room with two other tables but it was cacophanously loud. In addition, the room had a supplimental AC unit that blew frigid air directly on our table. We mentioned to to a server and she shrugged. We mentioned it to our waiter and he said he couldn't do anything about it. We asked to move. He grudgingly got the remote and turned it up a few notches. That made things bearable.
The menu just was not that enticing. It took many of us quite a long time to order, simply because the offerings seemed... wrong. However, when the waiter told us about the specials, the Triple Tail special sounded excellent, and it was. My friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, voiced her frusteration, and he was able to basically combine two different dishes for her. She honestly didn't eat much though. Some people loved their dishes, some were not impressed.
So food: mixed. Atmosphere: not great, considering that this is the restaurant's main charm. I mean, if I just wanted amazing food and simple atmosphere, I'd have gone to Stressa.
Maybe I'll try it again sometime for lunch and sit outside to people watch.
