Any ideas what this plant might be?

AmyH | Sep 8, 201507:26 AM     15

My son just bought a house and moved in last week. The previous owners had planted an extensive vegetable garden all around the back of the property. They truly made the most of the limited land back there, including terraced areas. There were so many beautiful vegetables that he kept a lot (and still has plenty more growing), we took some, and we donated some to the food bank.
I was able to identify almost all of the plants back there, including okra, but one plant stumped me. I've attached a photo (tried to attach 2 but the site won't let me). It is the plant with the whitish tendrilly things at the top. My son says it smells kind of herb-like. It's in several places in the garden, and rather large, so I don't think it's a weed. I didn't see any obvious fruit or vegetable on it. Any ideas?
