Ichigo (Strawberry) Daifuku

E Eto | Feb 20, 200807:00 AM     2

I really enjoy daifuku (sweet azuki bean paste mochi) as a snack or dessert with some tea, but I had an ichigo daifuku for the first time just recently and was struck by how well the sweet and fruity strawberry matched with the anko (azuku sweet bean paste). I'm also a bit disappointed that I'm just finding out about these now. And being that it is the peak of the strawberry season in Japan right around now, the strawberry in this one was amazingly sweet and luscious. I think these ichigo daifuku are around for only a little longer, but I'm getting my fill while I'm here in Japan.
